My Fair Lady Premiere
Washington, D.C.

"The most glittering motion picture event in the history of the nation's captital" was the gala Washington premiere of "My Fair Lady" at the Warner Theatre for the benefit of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the International Rescue Committee. Guests of honor were Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, the stars of the film along with producer Jack L. Warner and director George Cukor. Honorary chairman of the Washington gala was Mrs. John F. Kennedy and patrons included two past first ladies: Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson and Mrs Dwight D. Eisenhower. Sponors were Lord Harlech, the British Ambassador to the United States, and his wife.

Shown at the premiere are Audrey Hepburn and her husband Mel Ferrer with Sargent Shriver, Peace Corps Director.
